Route "Ötscher Schutzhaus"

Total ascent: about 3,4km and about 560 meters of altitude difference

The route

The route starts at the rear parking lot in Weitental. From there it runs along the road to the edge of the forest. There the trail turns to the right and continues slightly uphill through the forest. After a few minutes you reach the slope 2 from the Großer Ötscher.
The ascent route is on the extreme left edge of the slope as seen from below. A little further up you turn left onto the ski trail. After a bend to the right, continue along the ski trail in the direction of piste 2. Shortly afterwards, the ascent route runs left into the forest. From there on you are away from the ski slopes in the wooded area. The ascent to the shelter is marked. The descent must be made via pistes 1 or 2 of Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH during operating hours.

The route is also suitable for beginners.
